Fashion Savvy: Updating Your Childs Wardrobe For Less Than A £100 - SS/15 Edition & Haul

I like to think of myself as a savvy spender. I like to have the best things at the greatest price and in doing so I shop around and look for the best deal (usually, buying there and then is a big no no for me - unless I'm on a shopping spree of course or at the supermarket). I find shopping online is where I find my best deals, and it's much easier to compare prices online. This can be anything; toys, clothes, dvd's or even books - absolutely anything. And why not? I mean you compare prices for your car insurance, energy bills, so why not compare everything and save a little. My daughter seems to have shot up in the last couple of months and in doing so all her clothes have gotten to small. She towers over those in reception at my sons school, despite only being 3 and not starting school until next year. So, with this in mind, I set myself the challenge of updating her wardrobe as cheaply as possible. I didn't want to go crazy - she's growing at an incredible rate (please slow down) - and these clothes will be on an outgrown pile before we know it.

Debenhams have some really great offers on at the moment with up to 70% off dresses and 20% off kids clothing. This dress is now only available in ages 9 and 11, but they have a great selection of others to choose from - J by Jasper Conran navy shoe printed dress

May Favourites 2015

It's been such a long time since I did a favourites. Favourites isn't something I tend to do because I feel I don't swap my makeup products around enough, but this month I've tried some newer products and also found some in my stash that I've rediscovered and really started to love too. I thought I'd mix it up a bit and rather than keep it being just beauty add my TV favourites and a couple of accessories into the mix.

A Collective Haul - Beauty, Homeware & Randomness

I do love a good haul and I hope you do to because I seem to have been doing quite a lot of shopping recently. One thing I seem to have not bought for quite a while is makeup, like new makeup not typical must-have top ups. With going away, recently, I knew that I needed to get a few skincare essentials and thought this was the perfect opportunity to purchase a couple of makeup bits too. It seems my couple of makeup bits have had babies and I've ended up collecting quite a lot over the last month or so - resulting in a collective haul.

Lifestyle | 1940's Weekend at Haworth

Every year Haworth part-takes in a 1940's event. This is usually around the VE Day (Victory in Europe Day). If you're unsure what VE Day is then it marks another year since the end of the second world war 2 in Europe and this year marked 70 years. I've been about 4 times to the event in Haworth and it's bigger and better than I ever remember it to be. It seems to have now extended into the park and there's loads of 1940's inspired stalls, lots of food and even gun fires now. Despite loads of people being there it was such an enjoyable event with lots to do and a really great atmosphere. I love how people go all out and really make an effort to celebrate the 1940's with outfits, makeup and hair - even the shop owners got involved. For a couple of hours it really feels like you've stepped back in a time machine, it's so different to now. Bands playing music and couples dancing in the street, a time I'm sure I'd of loved to of been apart of. I believe these events are scattered out all over the country, but please, don't quote me on that. They were people, here, from all over the country.

Do you want to take a #selfie? With I Heart Makeup ♥

I Heart Makeup are the sister brand of Makeup Revolution, and if it isn't obvious already a brand I totally adore. I find them to be my go-to makeup brand for palettes now a days. It's nice to know that I'm able to indulge in something I love without breaking the bank too much. I'm definitely an high street makeup lover.

Rita Ora for Rimmel - Roll in the Grass & Rain Rain Go Away ♥

I've always found Rimmel to have great quality polishes, a wide range and fairly great prices. When I saw the new Rita Ora Spring/Summer collection for 2015 I quickly fell in love. They were gorgeous brights, pretty pastels and classic nudes. The names of the polishes all inspired by summer with a huge festival vibe about them; Port-aloo-blue, Peachella and Glastonberry to name a few. There's 12 new shades added to the 60 second super shine collection and I'm pretty sure you'll be picking up a couple, if not all, yourself.

American Candy: The Taste Test

American candy isn't something I've really had the chance of trying. I believe it's becoming more available here, but with a pretty big price tag attached. One selection of sweets that's easy to purchase and very affordable are the Reese's range. Whoever thought of putting chocolate with peanut butter deserves a huge award. When I made the journey across the pond recently I made sure I stocked up on both Reese's peanut butter cups and Reese's pieces - so good. Then recently I went into B&N Homestore to purchase some paint and couldn't help but notice a huge section dedicated to American chocolate and sweets. They were really affordable, and I may of gone a little mad because of that. Us British seem to very particular about our chocolate and I know a lot of people haven't rated the American chocolate highly, so I thought I'd share with you my thoughts.

Birchbox | May Edition - Free Your Mind

It's that time of month again when Birchbox makes it's way to all their subscribers homes. I, for one, look forward to the offerings of each and every box. It's always quite the treat. This month the theme is 'Free Your Mind' and the box is one you're able to colour in yourself, something that certainly frees your mind and can be quite therapeutic. I spent a good few hours colouring the above in, and watching Pretty Little Liars at the same time. It didn't exactly have me forgetting the fact I have a runny nose and can hardly breath, but it certainly helped.

Makeup Revolution - Iconic Pro Lipsticks

I was beyond excited when I saw Makeup Revolution were releasing new lipsticks to add to their Iconic Pro range. I'm a huge fan of their Iconic Pro palettes and own both. The packaging is very similar to the Iconic Pro 1 palette with the lipstick coming presented in a matte box. Yes, it's prone to dirty marks, but it looks much more expensive than it's teeny £2.49 price tag. The lipsticks come in a shiny black bullet with rose gold detailing and on the bottom is the colour of the lipstick inside. There's 20 shades available in the collection with some similar shades in a matte or creamy finish.

New York - Gift Shop Galore

When I go on my holiday I always pick up a little memento of that time. I believe a photo tells a thousand words and is what, in some cases, keep memories a live. But it's always nice to mark the occasion with a souvenir. Whether that be a magnet or keyring. I love going away with my family... When I say family I mean the entire lot of us, Mum, Step-dad and Brother included. This time it was me, my Dad, Uncle and cousin and that meant bringing a whole bunch of goodies back for everyone else.

NYC Diaries | Day 6 - Taking Things at a Leisurely Pace

Today is my last day, with not much to do we decided to take it at a leisurely pace. We started with a walk down the Hudson River and walked through Central Park, again. We didn't see anything we hadn't seen before, but I decided it was a good time to take some more photo's of the scenery surrounding us.  We also saw the helicopters that took people on tours. It was a beautiful day, which made the last few hours perfect for enjoying the sun before our long ride home.

NYC Diaries | Day 5 - Top of the Rock

Day 5 and the only day I woke up at a reasonable hour. It was still 5.30, but this, in my eyes, is reasonable and way better than the 4/4.15am. Finally over the jet lag and tomorrow I'll be making the long journey home - I don't want to it to be my last day. Today we went back to the Evergreen restaurant. I really enjoyed the Belgium waffles yesterday and decided to try them here too, not only were they cheaper they were better too. I had them with just strawberries, cream and syrup this time.

NYC Diaries | Day 4 - Rolling Down Wall Street

It's Day 4 and yes, I'm up early again. The jet lag really kicked in last night and I fell asleep way to early and that resulted in getting up at 4am - like every other day then. Today we decided to go else where for breakfast. Roxy's is situated on a corner right near our hotel and despite it being a little more expensive than where we've eaten previously it's still good food.

NYC Diaries | Day 3 - Love, Hope & Central Park

Day 3 and I'm up bright and early, again - not that it's a bad thing. Our New York days are pretty jam packed and we're following a schedule, almost, of places to visit. We found ourselves on our way to Evergreen, again, and I've ordered banana with choc chip pancakes. The pancakes are extra thick in America, and despite having no tea last night and having only 3 pancakes on my plate I try and fail to eat it all up. We've decided to visit The Natural History Museum today which passes by the Love and Hope sculptures.
