What I Have Been Reading.

A little different today and something i will add occasionally to my blog along with movie reviews etc. Because it's part of my life. Have read probably one to many books since receiving my kindle for Christmas. If your a fellow lover of book's had add a kindle to your wishlist, the reason for having mine. I don't have any storage space for any books so this is perfect. And you can download full books for free too.

Bared to you & Reflected in you
By Sylvia Day
A Crossfire Novel

If your a fan of fifty shades these are the book's for you.
Rich business man who owns a lot of the cities hot spots including a successful business. Gideon Cross meets Eva Tramell when she happens to bump into him when checking out her new job at his business. But Gideon can't forget her and neither can Eva. Brought together through love, hurt and demons of there own, can the relationship they want so much survive it all. These two book's your not going to want to put down.

Such a lovely romantic book, full of humour, hurt and betrayal. It's a fantastic read and very fifty shades. Of a fan of Christian Grey, i mean fifty shades, lol. This is that but a touch different.

Entwinded with you: A Crossfire Novel coming 9th of May 2013.
The third book in the Crossfire series.

You Had Me At Hello
By Mhairi Mcfarlane

Another romantic read. Rachel and Ben, have known each other since there uni days. Secretly in love but hiding there feeling's due to Rachel being in a relationship they don't confess until it's too late. Uni is almost over and there going there separate ways. One night before they go there separate ways until they meet up again, Rachel breaks up with her boyfriend. Ben admits his feelings to Rachel one night before they slip into bed together. Unexpectedly Rachel's ex turns up at the uni leaving do to sort things out, Ben does a runner. It's ten long years later and Rachel bumps into Ben one day after hes moved back up to Manchester. She's just broke up with her fiance after 13 years together and Ben is now married. But feeling's return and so does a broken heart. Can Rachel and Ben ever be friends again? or maybe something more.

Yes i am a sucker for a good romance. And i hate it when it doesn't go the way i want it to end. This book is unexpected in many ways through out but got a surprise ending.

Thursdays In The Park
By Hilary Boyd

Jeanie as been married to George for 30 years, one day he leaves her bed and goes to another room where he stay's for ten years. Denying her any kind of love. One day a Thursday, Jeanie takes her granddaughter to the park, where she meets Ray in the park, he's kind, easy going and she find's herself opening up to him something she can't do with George. Thursday becomes her favourite day and the day she see's Ray.

This is a perfect read for the middle aged, a good romance.
I enjoyed it, some bit's were quirky and it was a real inside into the life of someone in a older generation and whether it's acceptable to be loved at sixty or older.

Yours Truly
By Kirsty Greenwood

Excluding the crossfire books, this was truly my favourite. A romantic comedy with lots of Laugh out loud moments, literally.
Natalie is a normal down to earth girl engaged and her family are a bunch of nutters. But she always keeps her thoughts to herself after all she doesn't want to hurt them. But one night after a pub visit to see a hypnotist with her best friend Meg. Natalie's world starts to unravel around her, unable to keep her mouth shut telling everyone the truth. Her wedding is called off and she end's up in a little Yorkshire village of Trooley trying to track down Brian the hypnotist. But Trooley as big secrets of it's own and Natalie find's herself stuck right in the middle of it, after a snow storm leaves them stranded. And facing up to reality that she's got to face the truths she's been avoiding her whole life, because Brian cannot be found.

Yesterday i downloaded some more book's.

Lush Valentine's Day Faves

Does anyone ever think important events of the year are coming round faster and faster. Doesn't feel like two minutes since we were celebrating Valentines Day with our partners and now here it is again. Just over two weeks away. I love the romance surrounding valentines and i want to be wined and dined, spoilt with flowers, chocolates or maybe even a little Lush.

There isn't a whole lot of choice on Lush for valentines day but i am already craving there Heart of gold box and Tender is the night, which i spotted in the lush paper at the beginning of the month and instantly fell in love with.

A french kiss bubble bar - £4.15 each
What Lush say; Lie back and think of France
Sink into a landscape of Provence lavender fields and watch the white foam clouds drift by. Just bend your legs slightly if you want a view of your own Pyreknees! Remember those old Hollywood films where the starlet would be in a bath with a mountain of foam covering her modesty – leaving her to seductively raise one foam covered leg for soaping? Well our Bubble Bars were designed to give exactly that amount of foam if you use the whole thing. But of course you may choose to have slightly less foam in your bath, if there are no cameras around.
The comforter bubble bar - £4.25 each
What Lush say;  Berry yourself under a blanket of soft fruit foam
This isn’t called the Comforter for nothing. We threw everything we had at this one, to make it warming, comforting and reassuring. We wanted a bath that gave the same sense of safety and calm that your favourite teddy, your comfort blanket or a snuggly scarf gives.

FCUK - The Colour Palette

Swatches from top to bottom.

Some are quite light, the shades are highly pigmented some more then others. It was hard to catch the shade whilst taking the shot.

The colour palette comes with ten eye lid shades that are gorgeous. This palette is perfect for taking your look from to night.

The palette also comes with five shades of lipsticks.
And also two applicators. To use both for the eyes and lips. These are quite cheap so i advise you to use your own make up brushes. All in all it's a beautiful palette. You get a good amount of product, the palette is small enough for traveling and comes with a good sized built in mirror.

This was part of the 3 for 2 christmas gift buy's at Boots and deserves a place in the 2013 line up. For only £10.00 you can't go wrong.

Buy it here. At amazon it's a little more plus you after pay extra for P&P

Vera wang - Princess Night

This is my first fragrance by Vera Wang.

Vera Wang princess night is a floral fragrance.
Fruity and floral princess night is the perfect day to night perfume. With a mix of fruits such as watermelon and sweet raspberries. Flowers such as Jasmine petals and blossoms.
And hint of crushed sugar, sensual musk and vanilla.
Chic and cute with a heavenly smell.
It's one you will want to keep buying again and again.

Vanilla is one of my favorite fragrances and even though vanilla is just a base note in Princess Night, you can smell it strongly. But with all the other, fruits and flowers added to this fragrance. There the perfect potion to create a perfect scent.

I think the big thing about selling a perfume is attracting the eye with the packaging. And Vera Wang doesn't disappoint with Princess Night. In a heart shaped black bottle they have stepped up the princess day with a night time glamor look. Creating that crystal look with a mix of sparkly glitters. The top as got the signature princess crown which also doubles as a ring.

This is available to buy at all leading retailers that specialize in fragrances.

100 Day Spending Ban

I started this a week or so ago, then MUA had a huge sale 50% off and i caved. Now have decided to keep my boyfriend happy and my bank account. I am not going to buy anything i don't need for the rest of the year. Anything i blog about is stuff from christmas, valentines, mothers day, birthday (when it comes). This is a huge challenge, one i am unsure can be met. So to get me started slowly i am taking part in the 100 day spending ban. Slowly haha!! So to begin with from now until 21st of april i will try and not purchase anything i do not need. Wish me luck, i will need it. Much love Kate xx

Fantasy Real Crystal Hand Set Bracelet

RRP: £149.99 NOW £39.50
Warren James

I have been fortunate enough to win a Tresor Paris bracelet. I absolutely adored the bracelet but was disappointed how quickly the crystals fell out. When i so this at Warren James, i quickly fell in love with it and it's price. Soon enough it was on my Christmas wishlist and my parents got it me yay. I vowed with this one had only wear it on special occasions after what happened with the Tresor Paris one and so far so good no crystals have fallen out. This is almost the same bracelet with the same price tag as Tresor Paris bracelets but going for so much less. The quality is just as good if not better. And the price is fab enough to treat yourself, a friend or a family member and they come in other colours too. Mine is two colours so slightly more expensive then a one colour bracelet. These are bang on trend right now and very stylish. A must have.

  • Real Crystal
  • Hand Set Crystal
  • Celebrity Style
  • Friendship Bracelet

I also wanted to show you my 3rd/4th prizes have won in the safe game from Tresor Paris. Lucky me.

More Models Own

I am not going to go to much into the Models Own polishes. Have reviewed quite a few at late and the majority of each product are more or less the same, so not going to bore you to much. But i thought had show you some swatches. So here are three.

HedKandi - Ibiza Mix
Dark nights, bright lights - Ibiza

Sorry for slight blur-ness.

Ibiza mix, clear based polish with large and small sequins/glitters.
I used a MUA shade for base. I think its shade 2, a deep black.
This is a match made in nail polish heaven. 2 coats of mua and 2/3 coats of ibiza mix.

Lili's Pink

Lili's pink is a lovely shimmery pink, with specks of glitter through out. I really love this. I did use three coats.

Beetlejuice - Purple Blue

I am such a huge fan of two tone polishes and purple blue is just that. A two tone polish of both purple and blue. This polish is quite sheer but can be built up with 2/3 coats. Now i took loads of pics of this trying to get the best of both colour's which was hard considering the lighting/time. This was the best one i got where the left as a tint of lovely purple and the right a hint of blue.

All polishes are £5 from Models Own
Bare in mind the more you buy the more you get for your money.

MUA polish only £1.00 - Remember to take the chance to head over to MUA where there is a 50% sale on with free international delivery. They are having a few problems so keep an eye on Facebook page to see when its fully up and running. This ends Thursday at 5pm with a minimum spend of £15.00.

Happy Shopping

Birch Box - January 2013

I signed up to Jolie Box due to She Said Beauty box deciding December 2012's box would be there last. Then Jolie Box decided to have a new name which was great as it felt i became apart of something new from the very beginning. Jolie Box is now the new Birch Box here from new york.

This months Birch Box is labelled Fresh Start

Many people say new year, new start. So what a great name to call the first box of the year. This is what i got -

  • Lifestyle Extra - Tea Pigs. I got Chamomile also available in peppermint or super fruit. Pack of 15 £3.49 - £3.99. (1)
  • Fresh - Sugar Rose Lip Treatment. A delicious treatment, which keeps lips flake free and soft. Plus there's a built in SPF 15. Full size £15.50. I got 2.2g 0.08oz (I think this might be a sample) I love this at the moment, just not enough to part £15.50 to purchase it. I love that as a lip treatment it leaves a hint of redness to my lips and leaves them feeling soft and smooth.
  • Wei - Royal Ming firming and hydrating cream (4ml sample) Full size £74.00. This is inspired by a 600 year old recipe used by chinese courtesans, this supercharged cream contains, 18 herbs to address all signs of skin ageing. I just tried a little bit, my hands are neither greasy or oily feeling. They feel really smooth and hydrated, i can definitely smell the herbs which smell a touch like tobacco in all honesty. Do i really want to part with £74 for a hand cream though, bit on the high end when i can get soap and glory's hand food for less then a tenner. Glad to try a high end cream however it's a little out of my price range for a hand cream.

  •  Reverence De Bastien - Unguent for nail and cuticles. Full size £15.00 (I got 15ml) This is a french brand. Containing rich vitamin treatments this is guaranteed to keep your nails and cuticles strong and healthy between Manis. I am super excited to try this out, as a nail painter i find my nails and cuticles needing a bit of off time and some therapy.
  • KMS California - ADD VOLUME Volumizing spray. Full size £14.85. Hair feeling flat? Mist the body-building spray through towel-dried hair, then style as usual. I am a little wary of using this, my sister applied some on her hand and it feels quite oily. Products like this worry me because i hate to wash my hair to apply to find i need to wash it again cause it looks greasy. I will try it sometime to let you all know what i think.
So that is what's available in the first Birch Box UK. The Products that appeal to me most are The nail/cuticle cream and Sugar rose lip treatment. I have seen a few different products available which i didn't get in my box which other subscribers would have. Had love to see your thoughts/reviews and what you have got. So if you have Birch Box, comment below and i will pop by! I am not entirely overwhelmed especially since it's the first box, but i am excited about two products above which is okay. I am going to check out February Box and then decided when i go from there with my subscription, i love receiving my box.

Has a She Said Beauty Box subscriber, she said beauty gave everyone who signed up to jolie/birch box the chance to get a trio of make up products if they did so by a certain date. This is one of the reasons i decided to sign up else i may not have bothered. This is what i got -

  • So Susan wide awake palette (£15.00)
  • Nail Girls London - (Small Bottle)
  • I love raspberry & blackberry shimmer & Shine Lipgloss

From left to right -
Illuminating Cream, Highlighting cream & a
trio of eyebrow sculptors (Personally eye shadows)
Also a applicator brush and tweezers. With a mirror.

If you have been a Jolie Box subscriber i have seen that some people got these products in previous boxes. Would love to know your thoughts also.

Mua Haul #3

Lipstick Shade 5 - Fluff & Cuddles, Fuzzy Fluff, Fluffy Bobbin
Eye Shadow Pearl 11 & 3

Swatches from Left to Right - Lipstick shade 5 & eye shadow Pearl 11 & 3

The lipstick isn't the shade i thought it would be it looks nice enough but i am really unsure whether i suit this shade or not. I expected it to be a more orange tone like peach from revlon lip butters. But for a £1 you can't go wrong. The eye shadows were also £1 each and i love them. I haven't used the fur effect nail fluffs yet but have got my colours lined up that go with the colours i purchased. These were £3 each but are on offer at the moment but look out for the 50% sale mua will be having soon including free delivery (please bare in mine there is a limited spend to get free delivery this is usually £8 - £12) *WORLDWIDE PEOPLE*

When i got these their were a offer available if you spent £12 you get £20 worth of free make up from Famous Cosmetics which was a christmas present from MUA to there customers. Have never heard of famous until then.

Raw Shade 3 & Pillow Talk Shade 4
The shades were all picked at random and i do not suit either which is a shame as the lipsticks are worth £5 each.

Baked Bronze - I took a big pic of this because when i tried to swatch it the pigments were terrible i couldn't get no colour.

No Shine Face Powder

I haven't tried many of the famous products i will let you know it due course what i think. I do love the packaging from famous.

Body Shop Haul

Firstly had like to apologize for my lack of posts these last few days. Last year when i started blogging, i decided if i had some products (a lot) i would get them more or less out the way asap. This year have vowed to take my time, spread them out a little more. For example 2/3 days but have gone more then my time limit due to something cropping up or it getting to late plus i am a little addicted to my Kindle which i only just started using three days ago from Christmas and i am on my second book, opps. Little addicted to Sylvia days crossfire collection very Christian Grey aka 50 shades. Anyways enough of that and more to the review. This is my body shop haul, i decided to wait until had used some of each product before doing my review so i could do all four products at one time. Two were for Christmas, two from the pre christmas sales.

First up is Cranberry Joy Lip Balm - This is from the limited edition body shop collection along with all products shown below. Yes is maybe a little too late because the chances of getting your hands on them now are unlikely but you never no what Christmas 13 may bring and these products may well be available once again. Cranberry Joy Lip Balm is a lovely shade of red, unfortunately the colour doesn't show up on the lips and you can't spread it on with your finger cause you don't get a lot of product so you need to rub your lips on as a whole. It's very dainty and you only get 6.5ml worth of product for the original price of £4 it's not a lot really. How ever i got it on 50% off with the purchase of four or more products before christmas taking it to £2. The scent is quite high in the container but doesn't really hand around on the lips. It does keep your lips smooth and silky until it disappears completely through drinking/eating or dry's up.

From Left to right

Ginger sparkle
Cranberry Joy
Vanilla Bliss
Shower Gels

I am not going to give them all separate reviews, i believe they all do the same job leaving your skin bubbly clear and smelling amazing. Ginger sparkle i was given for Christmas from my boyfriend i did purchase it on his behalf again for £2 originally £4. There was a high for this everywhere and people seemed to not be able to get enough of it, but it doesn't appeal to me tbh. I don't notice any sparkle really unless i didn't pay attention and i ain't really keen on the Ginger smell in all honesty. Next up is cranberry Joy got this in christmas sales for £2 and my thoughts are just as they are with ginger sparkle, i don't like the smell it's quite sickly and strong smelling. I won't purchase either again had love to try a cinnamon one if they made that available Christmas 13 will see me hopefully if it's available heading straight to the chocolate collection, yummy. My fave one of the entire body shop collection this year was Vanilla bliss, the scent was just perfect and i really will be getting this again Christmas 13 if available.

Due to my lack of posts i am going to show you my Mua #3 sale haul that i ordered before Christmas and received early January find it in my post after this.
