It's Day 2 and I'm out of bed bright and early (that's jet lag sinking in and my Dad's snoring - sorry if you're reading this. Haha). My cousin and Uncle came along on this trip and we're meeting them for breakfast bright and early. My dad's found a popular cafe on Google called Evergreen Restaurant with rave reviews. The menu is full of all sorts of yummy things, including ice cream, and even though this isn't my idea of breakfast Greek yogurt, granola and fruit salad is. After this hearty breakfast we're on our way to the Empire State Building.

NYC Diaries | Day 1 - The Day My Dream Became a Reality
I'm in New York City, well, not quite, I'm at JFK... We've just landed after the plane had to circle over Long island due to slight rain and foggy conditions, though, this doesn't dampen my mood and it's not long before we're in a cab on our way to Row NYC. A simple, yet lovely hotel on 8th Avenue. Broadway is next door and Time Square is literally down the street. Our room 1035 gives us slight views of Time's Square and already, I have a great feeling about this holiday. Cases placed in our hotel room and with 7 hours until the day ends we decide to visit a few of the must-go places of New York City. Come with me on my New York journey and watch my dreams of visiting the place that never sleeps become a reality.

Models Own Hypergel Polish in Turquoise Gloss
The Hypergel range from Models Own have been around for what seems like forever now. Available are 31 shades with around half being prefect for Spring or Summer. I'm really into mint greens, Tiffany type blues and turquoise shades come this time of year and when the time came for me to pick one up from the range Turquoise Gloss was an obvious choice and winner.

Racing Hearts - Movie Review
Racing Hearts is a film I've had my eye on for ages. I've been putting off buying it for a while now and decided to purchase it after seeing it on offer in Tesco. I'm a fan of Jamie Dornan after seeing him play Christian Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey and he's very easy on the eye too. I kind of had high expectations for Racing Heart, I'm a huge lover of romantic films and it looks just like that on the cover with not a bad write up on the back either. I chose not to read the reviews before hand and just go with it. After watching the film I can honestly say I wish I had read the reviews - it's certainly not a film I'll be picking up to watch again in a hurry. Racing Hearts? More like Racing Pigeon.

Pro Go Mini Brush Set From Makeup Revolution
When Makeup Revolution started showing off another of their newly released products I, of course, got super excited. Not just any makeup product but makeup brushes, mini makeup brushes that is. I didn't realise just how small they were (about the size of a #liphug lipstick) but they are super cute. Inside the Pro Go set are 4 mini-sized essential makeup brushes; foundation brush, face brush, eyeshadow brush and an angled brush.

New York Beauty & Extra's
I think I've told anyone that will listen that I'll soon be in New York. Not in an exaggerating way, but I'm so blooming excited I can't contain myself and I'm feeling fit to burst... eck! The fact my dream will soon become a reality is crazy! I shall be doing a New York day by day Diaries when I get back but I thought it would be nice to start that little series off with a beauty post of what I'll be bringing on my travels.

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish - Review
Liz Earle aren't a brand I've had much pleasure of trying despite the huge, positive uproar. They are a brand that I see, more or less, on a daily basis and one product that is hugely hyped about is the Cleanse & Polish hot cloth cleanser. I can't tell you how long I've wanted to try this for but with it being an high end brand it comes with an high end price, so I've been putting it off a bit. In this month's April Birchbox I was extremely pleased to find this decent sized, 30ml sample, packed neatly away in some tissue paper. Not only did it keep me from spending just over £15 a little while longer it also meant I could try before I buy and see for myself if it was worth the hype.

Day's Out on a Budget
Easter seems to have past in a blur. 2 weeks of fun, excitement and for most of us up to our necks in chocolate. 2 weeks can seem like a really long time to fulfill your child with exciting things to do, something that will keep them busy and not moaning about being bored (something I'm yet to experience) but it's not always easy. Money can be a huge factor - as it seems you don't get a lot for the pound now a days - but its surprising some of the things you can find on your doorstep or a little further a field that cost virtually nothing and sometimes, even free. I, personally, like to go a further a field and discover new places, having lived in my home town all of my life I feel I've seen everything it's got to offer and a change of scenery is always nice for the parent as well as the child/children. Children do have a few holidays left before the lengthy 6 week Summer holidays and even though a few of those weeks could be filled with an holiday away its still nice to know there's many affordable or free day trips that can fill some of that time too. Over these past 2 weeks I've been to some places I've visited so many times I've lost count and many new places that I'll definitely revisit in the future. Some of them are around an hour to an hour and half away from my home and based within the North West. However, that doesn't mean you shouldn't search for various places near, or a drive away, from your own home.

Birchbox: Royally Good - April 15 Edition
This months Birchbox had me excited from the word go. The Royally Good theme sounded really intriguing and instantly had me thinking of luxurious items, plus the theme is bang on with Princess Kate about to give birth any day now. It seems everyone got an almost identical selection of products this month apart from the option of choosing 1 of 3 Laura Mercier samples. The options were the Radiance Primer (which went quickly), a mascara or the eye pencil. I had trouble selecting my sample and missed out on the Radiance Primer but I did get the eye pencil which I would of chose if I'd of been able to.

A BIG Collective Haul
If you read my blog you'll know I recently celebrated my birthday. For my birthday I got extremely spoilt and was able to purchase quite a few bits and pieces from the shops, saying that, this is a collective haul and not everything was bought with birthday money and some of these purchases go as far back has a few weeks. I've found there's some really good deals at various shops online at the moment and I've really managed to grab some bargains. I'd like to look at myself has a savvy shopper and certainly when it comes to spending money on myself, even birthday money, I try to purchase bits and pieces as cheaply as possible and always look around for the best deals and ways to save money whilst getting exactly what I want. If you'd like to take a look at my 'What I got for my Birthday' post you can do here.
You may or may not of seen the sudden surge of blog posts talking about Flamingo Gifts. They've been everywhere and it took just an handful of those to get me checking out their site and making a cheeky purchase - the 1p delivery helped and it came the next day too. Flamingo Gifts is an online store filled with retro and quirky gifts/pieces - homeware being a main factor - with many of the items having a fun twist. They kind of remind me of Toxic Fox in someways, but Toxic Fox certainly have more to offer in terms of variety. I picked up this note pad for just a pound, unfortunately, I'm unable to find it on the website now. I just love the design and it was a bargain not to be missed. I also picked up this gorgeous butterfly - sometimes I'll use glass drinking bottles to make quirky and different homeware pieces - and this certainly spruced the bottle up a bit (see below).

Makeup Revolution: Makeup Brush Cleaner Review
I was sent the Makeup Revolution Pro Hygiene Antibacterial Brush Shampoo and the Pro Hygiene Antibacterial Brush Cleaner quite some time ago now. I was happy to receive these having never used a shampoo or cleanser used for actual makeup brushes - not that I'd never cleaned them at all, I just opted for the cheaper alternative of normal shampoo.

Why is there so much HATE in the world?
Recently I had a conversation and what they said kind of stuck with me, so much so I decided to write it in a post. All I've thought about all day is why there is so much Hate in the world? Why people think it's acceptable to hate on other people; whether it's their religion, skin colour, body size, personality, looks, anything really. We are all guilty of it, even me. Not necessarily hating on other people, but hating yourself, picking out the flaws and thinking endlessly about why you can't look like someone else, why you can't snip a bit of your body here or shrink your nose, etc. People, myself included, spend much of their life nit picking at what they could look like instead of just loving themselves and sometimes, that comes down to hate and bullying can also come into it. So ask yourself, if you have called someone a name, how would you feel if you were the victim of name calling or shaming someone of what they look like?
