First to Fall by Carys Jones | Review

Lawyer Aiden Connelly traded the chaotic city life of Chigago for a more peaceful one when he moved to sleepy Avalon - and his first case doesn't appear to be so open-and-shut as he'd hoped for. Aiden is hired to defend a local beauty queen accused of murdering her husband, but there happens to be more to it then meets the eye, as Aiden is soon to find out. Avalon isn't the quiet, sleepy town that it appears to be.

I'm a huge fan of Carys Jones novel Prime Deception, though a light read it had your gripped, and first to fall is no exception. I was pulled in from start to finish. The story was very engaging and I was gripped from the word go. It had a lot going for it - mystery wise - and I was sat on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. I was questioning the relationship between Aiden and his wife, Aiden and the local ex-beauty queen. I tend to be good at guessing what will happening next but First To Fall had you questioning and wondering, constantly - which, is a good thing. One minute you're thinking such and such will happen and the next it's going in a completely different direction. I think this is a great read for anyone who loves a crime, thriller, mystery read. Even after completing the read I'm still thinking of this book, possibilities of what may happen next. One thing's for sure I don't think is the last we'll hear of Aiden!
