Lush - Valentine's Edition

There is no doubt in my mind that Lush always make a bath extra special. From the scents of each product to the rainbow colours that fill the bath once a bath bombs hit the water. Thought a little pricey, they are the perfect pamper treat after an hard day at work, or juggling the child/children.

When I saw the offerings for the Valentine's Day limited edition products I quickly took a look online going through each product before deciding which to purchase when I found myself near a Lush store. The two that stood out to me were the Unicorn Horn Bubble Bar and the Floating Flower Bath Bomb. What they look like, what they were, and the price were all huge factors in me deciding, with these 2 being the cheapest from the Valentines selection.

I imagine the results of the Floating Flower will sell you instantly, but don't be fooled by the pretty colours. I've seen review after review of the floating flower and they've all been really great, with one girl even picking up 4 more. For me, I don't see what the fuss is about apart from the array of pretty colours that submerge once the bath bomb hits the water. Floating flower is the worst and probably the most disappointing bath bomb I have ever tried from Lush. The smell is just.... urgh! When I picked this up in store I really didn't like it but me being me were sold by the fact it was limited edition, I'd never tried this particular bath bomb before and with huge hope the scent would grow on me. I was wrong, so wrong! The scent is so strong, it literally clings to your hair and body and just doesn't go away for hours, no matter how much you hope it does. The mixture of Ylang Ylang oil, Cypress oil and Jasmine are all to much. In fact, once I left the bath my boyfriend asked if I'd been cleaning the bath room with bleach, and it was a disgusting bleach smell as far as bleach goes - and let me tell you I'd rather sniff bleach then this bath bomb. Don't let me put you off though, the scent maybe some peoples cup of tea with an average of 4.5 stars from 21 reviews online. My advice would be to give it a whiff before you pop it in your basket and if you don't like it don't buy it. The floating flowers are £3.50 each.

As far as Bubble Bars go from Lush this must be the most beautiful one they've ever made. And at £3.25 it's not badly priced either. The Unicorn Horn bubble bar is just so pretty and smells amazing, with Lavender oil, Ylang Ylang oil and Neuroli oil. Not going to lie, I expected a little more in terms of colour - but then again I didn't use probably as much as I should of done. Saying that, the little bit I did use and let hit the water (instead of crumbling) did leave me with a hint of rainbow in my bath water. I didn't get loads and loads of bubbles, but then again I did use only a small amount and for decent bubble bath I'd say you need at least half. The bubble bar is shimmery all over with little stars attached, giving it a huge wow factor.

Update: I used half of the bar and wasn't to overwhelmed. I kind of expected it to dissolve like a bathbomb and have loads of colour floating around my bath, however, this wasn't the case. It does what it says it should do and adds bubbles to the bath, just not as many as I'd usually want for my bath. Second update: The Unicorn Horn works better when crumbled under the water. You'll see why if you purchase.

What else you can expect from Lush this Valentines.
