MayBeauty: The Incredible Face Mask - Review

The lovely people at MayBeauty very kindly got in touch and asked if I'd like to review their incredible face mask, and of course I said yes. I've tried a very similar mask to this before, from a different brand, but it's the little touches that win my seal of approval and that's the fact this one comes with an application brush - This makes applying the mask easy and messy-free.

This particular face mask is different to the one's you pick up in drugstores. This is different in consistency and jet black in colour. The recommended time for keeping this on is 30-45 minutes. Once dried it can make your skin feel a little on the tight side (Not in a bad way. You just can't do much facial movements). In the 30 minute time scale the face mask gets to work in removing blackheads, acne, dead skin and oil. Now, I'm going to be honest, I've tried this product at probably the wrong time. Six months ago and I'd of been using one after the other in hope it would improve my skin, but after switching round my skincare products and starting to drink water I've seen my skin improve so much, to the point I'm acne free and don't have a blackhead in sight. I don't really have oily skin either, though I'm prone to getting oily skin throughout the day on my t-zone. After removal I did find my skin to be thoroughly cleansed and extra soft.

I enlisted the help of my sister to help me with the review. She doesn't suffer from oily skin either, but after an infection her skin condition broke out severely on her body and face leaving her with rather dry and dead skin. She applied the face mask with her fingers and got to work in spreading it over her face. After drying she went to peel it off, which is the slightly tricky bit. The face mask sticks to your face like glue and takes some doing to peel back and remove, which can leave your eyes in a slightly watery state. She told me it pulled all her facial hairs out and her skin was left smoother than before. Even though it didn't remove her dry skin completely (it being a skin condition) it did improve dramatically and removed the dead skin in the process.

I wish I had a photo of what it looked like before the face mask, but it was very patchy, dry and the dead skin would fall away at a touch. I think it's clear to see how much it's made an improvement on her facial area. I was sent the starter kit which is usually £19 but if you click here it gives you an extra 30% off, meaning you only have to pay £13.30 and shipping is free worldwide. MayBeauty sell a couple of other products, so go check them out.
