A Never Ending Book Haul & Adult Colouring Books

I have a confession which involves an addiction... I am addicted to buying books! I've purchased quite a few, even had them bought for Christmas and my Birthday with huge hopes of reading them and just never get the chance. My addictions got so bad that I'm literally hoarding books. I have around 50 - maybe more - unread books on my book shelf and Kindle, with only 10 being on my kindle. It's like my brain doesn't process that I have all these books to read at home and should NOT purchase anymore, but that just never seems to happen. I blame catching up on The Originals and then Pretty Little Liars for my lack of reading, but still, that's no excuse. So, I've decided to create a list of books I'd like to buy and only buy them when I've finished reading every single book I am yet to read. Wish me luck, I'm going to need it. I've thought about the book buying ban before and still that didn't stop me buying quite a few books over the last few weeks.

I'm not going to lie I almost gave up on Jane Costello. I read one of her novels and honestly, it didn't wow me. It was one of those books that kind of dragged and was a little boring, but I decided to give her another chance and pick up another book that sounded much more exciting. I still haven't read it and already picked up another, this one, The Love Shack. This book seems to be getting loads of rave reviews and when I saw it in The Works for £1.99 I thought why not. It was bargain considering it's her latest book.

This is Lindsey Kelk's tenth and newest book. Lindsey is a brilliant writer and her books are very similar to Sophie Kinsella, and we all know how fantastic she is. I'm a huge fan of her books and was really excited when she announced the release of Always the Bridesmaid, so much so I quickly pre-ordered it. I own all of her books but have only read About a Girl and What a Girl Wants, which, I really really loved. In fact, I've just seen the sequel is to be released in the Autumn - Let's hope I read all my books by then.

I order from The Book People every now and again, not usually books for myself but for my children. The offers are incredible and there the place to go when you want to grab a bargain book - They sell everything. I've never heard of Freya North or Harriet Evans, but when The Book People catalogue recently came through my door Freya's books popped out at me. This was a trio of books with a very small price tag of £2.99. They are all individual stories and look like really great reads. I only came by Harriet by chance and these selection of books were also a trio and only £3. Again, these look like great reads and I'm really looking forward to reading them. Probably in 2016 when I've read the rest that I own. Also happy to be introducing some new authors to myself.

At this point I'd usually ask for some recommendations, but this time, I'd better not! Especially now that I've gone out and bought even more... opps!

After May's Birchbox (one that you colour in) I rediscovered my love of colouring. Colouring is something I haven't done much of since I was a tween and introducing some creativity into my life is something I've been thinking about since. It didn't take me long to order a couple of 'adult' colouring books and a new set of colouring pencils online. I went for the Secret Garden colouring book (which, by the way, is the most expensive colouring book I've ever bought at £7.99 and that was on offer). It's no longer on offer, unfortunately - and this Art Therapy, an anti-stress colouring book, plus, these Staedtler colouring pencils.

I wrote this post, went out and bought 2 new books. This whole book ban is so not going to work... I didn't even want these books they were just on offer for £2 each (from Tesco). Seriously, it's an issue! The Mistress by Martine McCutcheon and Sealed with a Kiss by Rachael Lucas.

Trust me when I now say the ban is now on. I've already started making a list of 'to buy' books. These books are strictly on the Christmas list pile ha.

I look back on this after writing it a few weeks ago and have still bought another book. I decided to pick up Lucy in the Sky (a favourite from another blogger) from Paige Toon. I've only read one book from Paige Toon before and it didn't wow me, so I thought I'd pick up this. It was only £1.99 on Amazon. Apart from the new Fifty Shades book I swear I won't be getting anymore books, until Christmas anyways.

What have you been reading lately? What is you whole time favourite book? Let me know in the comments below.

    1. I know. They seem to be everywhere right now. I didn't notice it before, but I think adult colouring books have recently come in. I'm ashamed to say I've hardly touched mine. x
