I Heart Makeup │I ♥ Obsession Palettes in Pure Cult & Paris

Another week and more releases from Makeup Revolution, or their sister brand I Heart Makeup. This time five fabulous palettes. I Heart Obsession eyeshadow palettes. There's Born to die, West End Girls, Paris, Pure Cult and Wild is the Wind. The packaging is pretty basic and similar in style to the one's from Makeup Revolution's £4 range - except the layout of shades and the additional pink to the sponge applicator, which matches the I Heart font. These are a bargain at just £3.99.

The shades are very similar to those from Makeup Revolution with most having the same great pigmentation. Unsure why, but I find the lighter mattes to be more pigmented in the Makeup Revolution palettes.

This is Pure Cult, the perfect nudes palette. This really reminds me of Naked 3 and Makeup Revolution's Iconic 3, although it doesn't have every single shade available in both, it is very similar. I have a comparison post coming soon so keep an eye out for that. I love each and every shade available, they are really wearable with a mix of matte and shimmers. The shade I got on least with was the white, I find this to be so similar to my skin tone it kind of just blends in.

This is Paris, a wearable day to night palette. This is a mix of nudes and smokey eyed shades, perfect for creating looks that will work during the day or at night. The top row is full of highly pigmented shades. They are all so pretty. The entire bottom row, I found, to be very hit and miss. Again, all the shades are quite pale and if you look at the swatches you can see how those shades just blend in to my skin tone and aren't very visible. The last two will make great highlighters for the brow bone though.

Both palettes are very wearable and at £3.99 you'd be silly not to pick a couple up. A few of the lighter shades are a little iffy, but for £3.99 I won't complain to much.

New palette Black Velvet is released today!

  1. Ah what a bargain! Definitely think they are worth it for the price, as as you say, the lighter ones would make lovely highlights, so you are getting more than your moneys worth! x
