It's no secret that eyeshadow palettes are my beauty guilty pleasure. I must have dupes of high end palettes twice over from different brands but I don't care, palettes are my makeup love and I'm not ashamed to admit it. When new brand, Freedom Makeup, was introduced to us a few months ago the eyeshadow palettes were definitely the makeup product I found myself checking out first, and with an impressive range available there's something to suit everyone - and prices start from just £2.50
The palette I got is the Romance and Jewels and costs just £4. Inside are 12 glorious shades - and the name it's self is quite fitting because this palette is seriously shimmery. If you've read my blog for quite some time you'll know I prefer shimmery shades over matte ones - I just think there so much more pigmented than matte and they show up really well. Well, Romance and Jewels is no exception. For just £4 the shades are seriously pigmented and that's enough to make me fall in love, well that and the shimmer of course.
The shades blend pleasantly well and are soft to work with. Some people have experienced fallout on these shades, but I didn't. My only issue is the design of the shades in the pan. Yes, it looks super pretty, but I find you have to scratch at the ridge to uncover the shade underneath which can lead to it being slightly crumbly and somewhat of a messy situation, and it's hard to begin with too. But for £4 you can hardly complain, the shades are nice enough, a great pigmentation and blend easy. The lighter shade will make a great highlighter for the inner corner of the eyes and the brow bone.
Amazing price for what you get! gorgeous shades too! <3

DeleteThat palette is an absolute bargain for £4!! It kind of reminds me of the Naked palette. I should definitely give Freedom Makeup a browse.

Oh yeah, I didn't see the comparison before because I don't own the original Naked palette. I think there's more matte in that palette right? This is complete shimmer x

I haven't tried much of Nars.. but fab comparison for an higher end brand :)
DeleteI did find their palettes a bit powdery, but this one does look lovely. But I do prefer their more matte shades!

That's a shame. I didn't so much find them to powdery, just the bit that's raised for the patten can be slightly crumbly. Once that's removed it's fine :) x
DeleteI've just discovered your blog so I'm a little late to the game, but ... this palette reminds me of NARS Narcissist with those edgy grooves and shimmery textures. At least Freedom is cruelty free! Is this palette still available?
