Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro 1 Palette

Is there a day that goes by where Makeup Revolution don't bring out a new release? I'm not sure, but I love it! It's still the beginning of February and we've seen the brand really deliver when it comes to releasing the most amazing products, and the Iconic Pro palettes are no exception.

There's two palettes to choose from in the Iconic Pro collection. I got Pro 1 and even though I'm completely grateful it landed at my front door it's Pro 2 that I really have my eye on. After seeing some picture comparisons both palettes are incredible dupes for Lorac Pro 1 and 2, but a fraction of the price at just £6.99 each.

It's worth pointing out that Makeup Revolution have had a palette revamp. Not only have the Iconic Pro palettes been given a makeover - which offers a fresh new approach that's not only got matte packaging, but is also sleek and much more expensive looking - the formula of the shades is new too. It's also goodbye sponge applicator and hello professional makeup brush. Though the palette is prone to makeup finger marks, with it's new look, it's a look I definitely prefer over the shiny packaging that Makeup Revolution have previously offered. The bottom half is still plastic so it's not goodbye entirely.

Inside the palette are loads of neutral matte and shimmery shades with a couple of darker, smokey eyed shades thrown into the mix. There's also a built in mirror, making it very travel friendly.

The Revolution Pro 1989 brush is double-ended with 1 flat end which is perfect for applying, and a rounder brush which is great for creases and blending. It's the exact same quality we've come to expect from the Makeup Revolution brushes - you can see more on those here.

On the day of my Iconic Pro photo shoot my camera didn't want to cooperate. The lighting wasn't on my side either and I ended up spending an hour and half of the day taking numerous snaps of my arms, fingers and arms again. I hope these photo's have paid off in terms of the colour they offer, if not, they have them swatched on their website and also on Instagram.

Not going to lie, I'm more of a shimmer girl than matte, but these shades swatched surprisingly well. They aren't as pigmented as the shimmers but that tends to always be the case with matte. There's some quite simple shades in there which are perfect for contouring and highlighting the eye, and many that are great for neutral and darker smokey eyes or just for wearing alone. The new formula is still impressive, soft and easy to work with and blends really well. I think they have a sell-out with these 2 newbies.

I desperately want Pro 2, which, I'll hopefully have by the end of March. Hopefully it's not out sold out, though, I predict it may well be. I have a very BIG order to make with one of my favourite brands.

Huge thanks to Makeup Revolution for spoiling me, again.

  3. So pretty, and I'm really pleased they've swapped out sponge applicators for brushes, especially with the brushes having such good reviews since their release.
