My Travels: Edinburgh

Well over a month ago, maybe even two, I took my first ever trip to Edinburgh. It was the most spontaneous trip having booked train tickets just the night before, but one that was sort of necessary because my house was being completely rewired and we needed to find an alternative place to lay our head. I've wanted to go to Edinburgh for quite sometime prior to going. I just love how historical and old school Edinburgh looks. It's so very super pretty.

We checked into 28 York Place, which is around the corner to all the Edinburgh gems. It's a gorgeous but small hotel, which isn't the most pram friendly due to the building being old school and there being no lifts but we made it work. The owner and staff were very attentive, offering to hold our luggage up to our room or telling us directions without hesitation. We were on the second floor and although a killer at times getting the pram from A to B, it was easy enough. The view's were amazing and well worth the stay for that alone.

Would I stay again? Definitely. There was a little mini bar in the room. There's a bar downstairs that serves food and drinks also and they do breakfast (not included in the price). There were towels, mini toiletries and free wifi. Both the room and bathroom were nice and clean.

I am the biggest Harry Potter fan and the majority of our Edinburgh visit we found ourselves doing somewhat of a Harry Potter tour, this included; visiting numerous Harry Potter shops, going down the cobbled street that inspired Diagon Alley, visiting Tom Riddles grave and having a drink in the cafe where JK Rowling wrote the Philosophers Stone.

We walked everywhere and saw so much. The beautiful views of Edinburgh, the castle and everything inbetween. I'm desperate to go back and explore the castle due to not getting the chance to on this occasion.

If you love Harry Potter or historical old towns then definitely visit Edinburgh. It's such a beautiful city with so much to see and visit. It's got so many gorgeous eateries an all.
