Liverpool's Hidden Gems | With Travelodge

 Liverpool is simply one of my favourite Northern cities, not only is it great for shopping but it's also bursting with beautiful architecture and history. Whenever I visit I love to have quite the splurge but more than anything I like to check out the cities history and visit one of the many free museums - you could call these quite the hidden gems but there's plenty around the Liverpool area. I've visited many, it's a good and educational day trip out, and one my two seem to love. 

One of my favourite museums is a popular one, the Merseyside Maritime Museum. I was fortunate enough to visit the year the Titanic exhibition was on and it was simply amazing. I'm a huge fan of the film Titanic and love listening and hearing the stories that happened that fateful night so, to read the history and see the artifacts and various objects that were salvaged at the time was truly something. There's plenty more information on various other ships that have had the pleasure of making it into the Liverpool docks, and plenty of intellectual things to get involved in - great for the little ones too.

 

Now that Christmas is sneaking upon us, and there's less than two weeks left, there's no better time than a trip to Liverpool to stock up on those last minute gifts, finish your shopping completely, or start your shopping for those who are very last minute. It's the perfect opportunity to make a day and night of it and book an hotel - there's plenty of very cheap hotels to choose from within the Liverpool area from the likes of Travelodge. It's a city that is bursting with the entertainment factor; be that shopping or just taking it at a leisurely pace, or checking out the historical hidden gems. You may even have tickets booked for the Echo arena and need somewhere to stay the night.
